Seltzer Water Maker

Not only am I addicted to The Wire, I am also addicted to sparkling water. However, sparkling water is wasteful given that you have to buy it in plastic bottles or cans. I am thinking about getting a seltzer water maker, but do not know too much about them. Does anyone have one of these? If so, which brand and would you recommend it?

More on DIY Seltzer from The Times.

Hi Amy! A friend of mine uses one of these so I asked him what he would recommend... here is his response:
Mine is a Kayser... I don't know that there's much difference between brands-- this is the only one I've used, although they're function is really pretty simple. As long as the valve works and it keeps a good seal, any of them should work fine. Outside of that, it's just aesthetics. I bought a bunch of CO2 cartridges from Ebay. There are a couple technique tips that do make a difference-- cool water works better, and, will be more carbonated when left overnight in the fridge.

hope that helps!
